Review:
This is a photograph of the land end of the port bowline attached to a 44 foot sailboat. It was shot in RAW format for maximum versatility in editing. In order to capture the affect that I was looking for, I set the maximum aperture. This is what achieved the particular depth of field where everything is focused at the beginning but quickly blurs as it goes. To achieve more focus, you must do the opposite by setting the aperture to as small as possible. I edited this in CS2, only tweaking contrast and saturation to gain the look that you see now.
Marshmallows Comments: In Aperatures the numbers are opposite what you think they would be. Aperatures around f/2 or f/2.8 are considered high, or wide open. At these low numbers you do not have much depth of field and the background and foreground are blurry. When you need smaller aperatures you are talking about f/16 or f/22. With these aperatures there is a large depth of field and you can see everything in the background and forground.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
